The young man from Jesolo who was fatally attacked last September will be remembered through the work depicting the Good Samaritan.
Jesolo Sand Nativity will host a sculpture dedicated to Giacomo Gobbato. The artistic itinerary of the 22nd edition of the famous sand nativity scene will consist of 12 sculptures that will express the themes of brotherhood, peace and dialogue contained in the encyclical “Fratelli tutti (All Brothers)” that inspires the exhibition.
One of these works will represent the parable of the Good Samaritan, which highlights the mercy and compassion to be shown towards our neighbor, whoever they may be. A figure known throughout the world, with such influence that the term “Good Samaritan” refers to a generous person who is ready to provide help. This is exactly what Giacomo Gobbato did last September, when he was the victim of a fatal stabbing in the streets of Mestre while he was helping a woman who was being robbed.
After the installation of the tensile structure and the compaction of the sand, in the last few days the sculpting phase of the works by the artists began and will last a couple of weeks. The inauguration of the Jesolo Sand Nativity will be held on the afternoon of Friday 29 November in the presence of the auxiliary bishop and vicar general emeritus of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Monsignor Giacinto-Boulos Marcuzzo.
