Five episodes with the story of the works that make up the 22nd edition of the most famous sand nativity scene in the world.
A new tool to discover the Jesolo Sand Nativity. The Municipality of Jesolo has created a detailed video guide divided into five episodes to spread as much as possible the message of peace, brotherhood and dialogue contained in the 22nd edition of the most famous sand nativity scene in the world. At the same time, this new tool will allow the exhibition to reach every corner of the planet thanks to the power of the internet and the platform YouTube on which the guide to the exhibition is made available.
The guide is made in Italian and English, and is divided into five chapters: “An introduction”, “How much sand do you need for the Sand Nativity?”, “How do you make a sand sculpture?”, “Do you use glue?” and “Who are the sculptors?”. The voice of Elena Lana, from Jesolo, a member of the artistic direction of the event, will accompany users.
The introduction allows the viewer to quickly learn about the long history of the Jesolo sand nativity scene and then immediately delve into the contents of the 22nd edition, with the illustration of the common thread that unites the exhibitions, the parable of the Good Samaritan. The story continues by illustrating technical aspects, dispelling the myth that glue is present in the "recipe" of the works that are instead made starting simply from sand and water, then data relating to the charity that has been possible over the years thanks to the free donations of visitors and the sale of merchandise. The story ends with a description of the artistic cast, a presentation of the sculptors who, with small tools, bring to light the subjects “hidden” inside the large blocks of sand.
