Queues at the entrance to see the sand sculptures live: more than 5,500 accesses yesterday alone.
Ten days after opening to the public, the Jesolo Sand Nativity has already registered almost 18,000 visitors. Yesterday's day ended with the people counters placed at the entrance to the tensile structure which marked 17,930 accesses, to be precise. Last year, in this same period of time, the registered attendances were 15,031. The "Sculptures of Peace" are involving a large audience and making the 2022/2023 edition one of the busiest with a peak recorded yesterday, December 18, when more than 5,500 people crossed the turnstile of the exhibition.
The Jesolo Sand Nativity was inaugurated on Thursday 8 December in the presence of the Patriarch of Venice, Francesco Moraglia, and the auxiliary bishop of Kiev, Monsignor Oleksandr Yazlovetskij. On that occasion, Moraglia received from the hands of the scouts of the city group the Bethlehem Peace Light which was then given to the Ukrainian bishop so that he could take it with him to Kiev as a symbol of hope. On Saturday 17 December, during a ceremony in the presence of Mayor Christofer De Zotti, the Light of Peace of Bethlehem was permanently placed inside the sand nativity scene where it will remain until it closes on Sunday 5 February.

Our sand nativity scene is a well-established event that manages to attract visitors from all over Italy, but it is now easy to meet foreign tourists as well. This year, together with the ice nativity scene, the one made of stones, a beautiful Christmas Village, cultural and musical events, we are managing to animate the city even in a period otherwise of pause. In short, Jesolo has already begun to experience a new season".
